On Saturday Chris and I attended the Hillsville, VA “Cruz In”. We met at Mama Nita and Poppy Ed’s house and grabbed a quick appetizer at a great little eatery on main street called the Hardware Company which also includes an old fashion soda fountain. Shannon, Erina, McKinley and Madison drove up from Easley, SC and we were hoping Shannon would bring the hot rod but he said he may try to haul it up to the next car show scheduled for July 18, 2009.

There were around 175 cars participating, some very unique, and Poppy Ed let me drive his red 65 Mustang in the parade which precedes the car show. Chris rode shot gun and only used the break on the passenger side three maybe four times, McKinley and Madison rode in the back pleasing the crowd with their most perfect beauty pageant waves. It is really loads of fun, not to mention the vendors, the food, the beer and the band. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the guy in the “daisy dukes”, now that was really unique!
